Terms of Service

By accessing or using GrapheneX ("the Platform"), operated by GrapheneX Hub ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

2. Description of Service

GrapheneX is a scientific collaboration platform that provides researchers, institutions, and organizations with tools for:

•Research collaboration and communication
•Project management and document sharing
•AI-powered research discovery and recommendations
•Intellectual property protection through blockchain technology
•ORCID integration for researcher verification
•Real-time collaboration features including video calls and messaging

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To access certain features of the Platform, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access the Platform and for any activities or actions under your password. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party and to notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.

3.3 ORCID Verification

We encourage users to verify their identity through ORCID integration. Verified accounts may receive additional features and higher trust levels within the Platform.

4. User Content & Intellectual Property

4.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of any intellectual property rights that you hold in the content you submit, post, or display on or through the Platform ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Platform.

4.2 Research Data

Research data, manuscripts, and other scholarly content you upload remain your intellectual property. We provide tools to help protect your intellectual property, including blockchain-based timestamping and provenance tracking, but we do not claim ownership of your research.

4.3 Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of posting or publishing it. You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to submit User Content and that your User Content does not violate any third-party rights.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use the Platform to:

•Upload, post, or transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
•Impersonate any person or entity or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity
•Upload, post, or transmit any content that infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights
•Engage in any form of academic misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification
•Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform, other user accounts, or computer systems or networks
•Use any automated means to access the Platform or collect data from the Platform without our prior written consent
•Interfere with or disrupt the Platform or servers or networks connected to the Platform

6. AI-Powered Features

The Platform uses artificial intelligence to provide research recommendations, summaries, and other features. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content should be verified independently. You acknowledge that:

•AI recommendations are suggestions and not definitive research guidance
•AI-generated summaries may not capture all nuances of source material
•You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any AI-assisted content before relying on it

7. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Platform immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform will immediately cease.

You may export your data before termination. We will retain your data for a reasonable period after termination to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL GRAPHENEX HUB, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE PLATFORM.

9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
